Retro-MOD Camper Vans
Low Season (October – March): $180/night
High Season (April – September): $195/night
At a glance: Our VW Vanagons feature walnut cabinets, Paperstone countertops and a custom build out designed for functionality. We’ve kitted each camper van out with Ford engines to allow these rigs to function as modern vehicles while maintaining the aesthetic charm of the 80’s campervan shell. Each van is complete with a stainless steel refrigerator and freezer, induction burner stovetop, and a full dinette to enjoy meals, play gin rummy, or sip a whiskey sour.
Please note that our Vanagons do not have AC and were built before the time of airbags, and thus do not have air bags either.
Our VW Vanagons come in a few different options, so be sure to book the one that works best for you.

Our VW Vanagons are a true embodiment of the mindset that vacation is not about seeing the most spots, it’s about fully taking in the places that you see.
The story behind the VW vanagons
What happens if I hit a bump in the road?
Especially when hitting the road in one of our Retro-Mod vehicles, inevitably, the occasional breakdown or system failure occurs. Please know that if you travel beyond 2 hours from our home base in Longmont, you will be required to utilize the Wheelbase Roadside Assistance, or your personal AAA plan (all bookings require personal AAA insurance coverage or additional Wheelbase Roadside Assistance for this reason!). If you’re within a 2 hour radius, we’ll do our best to bring you a replacement van if one is available (and if deemed necessary by our in-house mechanic), otherwise, you’ll again need to utilize Roadside Assistance – and while you wait, why not enjoy a cold beer and a view?
Nonetheless, you can rest assured that we will always do everything in our power to make things right.
