FAQ

We’ve done our best to anticipate any questions you may have. If you don’t see the answer you’re looking for in this list of faqs, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Can I come by the shop to see the vans before I reserve one?

Absolutely! Just let us know ahead of time to ensure that we are around to give you a tour of the shop and the vans. We’re also happy to schedule a FaceTime walkthrough for outoftowners.

How does the check-in / check-out process work?

Our check-in/check-out process is super simple and intentionally streamlined to get you on the road quickly.

You will review and sign your rental contract electronically prior to arriving (typically after your reservation confirmation).

Prior to your pick-up date, we’ll also send a video walkthrough and written manual so that you can read up on your rig and hit the ground running. (Check your confirmation email if you want to get a head start on the video walkthrough)!

Depending on your pickup day, you will either receive your lockbox/pickup info the day prior to your pickup, or several days prior if your pickup is over a weekend or holiday.

We take extensive pre-inspection notes and photos of existing damage, but you’re more than welcome to do the same for your own records before pulling off the lot.

Upon your return, we ask that you make sure you have all of your belongings, we have ours, you have filled your fuel tank to full, and that you lock up and drop the keys in our dropbox. You can also refer to the vehicle manual for detailed van check-in instructions.

If there was any damage sustained to the interior, exterior or furnishings/add-ons, just take photos and send them over to our email: rentals@rossmonsterdesign.com.

Are dogs allowed?
Dogs are welcome (and encouraged!) to join in on the fun for no additional fee. That said, clean up after them as if you were in your own home. As always, we reserve the right to charge any additional cleaning and damage fees incurred from pet hair, chewing, scratching, or excessive messiness.
How do I choose which rig is right for me?

Each of our vehicles has something unique to offer. In order to figure out which van will best suit your needs, just give us a call, or peruse our website. We love chatting about your upcoming adventures and helping you think through all of the nuts and bolts. To reach out, either give us a call or shoot us a note on our Book/Connect page.

Are your vehicles manual or automatic?

Both! The majority of our vans and trucks are automatic, and you can assume they are automatic unless otherwise noted next to the vehicle name during the booking process.

Where can I camp in my van?

The sky is the limit. We have tested the waters of everything from designated campgrounds and roadside pull-offs to RV parks, ski resort bases and the parks near our favorite restaurants and bars. Therein lies the beauty of adventure vehicle camping – whenever you’re ready to pause, just throw the van in park and get cozy. As always, we recommend abiding by local parking laws.

When should I book my campervan?

We suggest booking your adventure at least a few weeks in advance, especially during our peak summer months. That said, our fleet is large and we know that schedules are unpredictable, so never hesitate to give us a last-minute call to see what we have available.

Can I extend my trip once it has started?

While we cannot guarantee extensions, if the vehicle is available for additional requested days, we are happy to extend your adventure. Just reach out and we’ll do our best to make it happen.

What furnishings can I expect inside the vans?

We are strong believers that being out on the road is made all the better by having a comfortable and cozy home-base to return to. For this reason, we have stocked each van with carefully chosen kitchen, bed, and bath products intended to bring a touch of indulgence to your time on the road. To take a closer look at what you can expect to find in your van, visit our interior furnishings page

For gear and other add-ons, don’t forget to check out our camper van add-on’s page. If you still don’t see gear you’re looking for here, don’t hesitate to reach out, we’ll be happy to help source anything you may need.

Can I use my carseat or booster in your vehicles?

All of our truck models utilize the factory seats and are therefore compatable with most carseats and boosters. The second row of seating in all of our vans are bolted through the frame and include three-point retractable seat belts, but are not DOT approved as we cannot crash test our fully built out vehices. Use of additional seating accessories is always at the discretion and liabilty of the renter.

Your rental comes with 100 miles per day. Any additional miles on top of that will be charged at a rate of $0.35 per mile. • 300 miles per day = $36/day
  • Unlimited mileage = $48/day
What is my responsibility as a driver?

Treat our vehicles as if they were your own and use your best judgment when it comes to questionable weather and road conditions. We want to ensure that  every person who rents our vans is sent out in a clean, safe and well-maintained van. As such, any damage that is incurred from driver error or poor driving decisions will result in a repair or replacement fee.

We’re in Colorado, can I smoke in the campervan?
Do what you please outside of the vans, but refrain from smoking or vaping of any sort inside the vans. Any evidence of smoking or vaping will result in a $250 minimum deep cleaning fee.
Do I need to clean the vehicle prior to returning?

We thoroughly wash all linens $ furnishings and deep clean vehicle interiors prior to each adventure. While we will deep clean the van upon its return, we ask that you please return vans in a reasonably clean state, similar to when you first picked it up. All linens should be placed in a pile in the rear of the van, all trash should be disposed of, and fridges should be left empty. Additional cleaning fees will be incurred for excessively messy vehicles.

What if I am late returning my van?

While we want you to enjoy your adventure to the fullest, returning vans late can interfere with the next rental and therefore can incur additional charges. That said, if you’re running late, let us know and we’ll help out as best we can.
